Carpinteria Cabinet Company was founded in the Carpinteria valley in 1989 by Mark Carter, a third generation. Carter Construction was the original name on the License (General B-1 #lic. 568522). By the end of 1990, the focus was on kitchen remodels, finish carpentry and furniture inspired by Shaker, Mission and early American styles. With fine furniture and old world craftsmanship as a benchmark, a unique style of cabinetry was developed making Carpinteria Cabinet Company a true custom cabinet shop designing one of a kind kitchens that are stand apart in function and quality.

After years in the woodworking business Mark, owner of Mahnken Cabinets, decided to branch off with the skills that he had and start up his own custom cabinet business. Starting out in his garage in the early 1980′s with a little faith and a lot of support from his family, Mahnken Cabinets came to fruition in 1987. After 23 years in the business, and hundreds of jobs later, Mahnken Cabinets has carved out a name and reputation allowing it to expand.
